Kirsty's Ceilidh
"Kirsty's Ceilidh was an outstanding success, and on behalf of Kirsty MacCormick and her family we'd like to thank everyone who supported it. The sum raised stands at £2954, although we're trying to get to the £3000 mark! A further £2700 was raised at a similar event in South Uist."

A group of our students gave two workshop sessions in creating sets of tunes for an audience of music educators.

Feis a' Bhealaich, Applecross
Three students provided tuition to primary school children at this two-day feis in Wester Ross.

2nd National Showcase of Excellence
7.30pm, City Halls, Candleriggs, Glasgow, G1 1NQ.
Following on from last year’s hugely successful event at Edinburgh’s Hub, the 2nd National Showcase of Excellence brings together Scotland's finest young musical talent from the four Scottish Centres of Excellence in Music. We will be joining with our colleagues from Aberdeen City Music School, The City of Edinburgh Music School, and The Music School of Douglas Academy to perform a varied programme of both solo and ensemble musical items to suit all tastes. The performance will culminate in the four centres coming together for the first time ever to perform Eddie McGuire’s piece for traditional group and orchestra, “The Voyage Home”.

Raising funds for ITU, Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, and Rehab Unit, Raigmore Hospital, Inverness, both of which places looked after Kirsty MacCormick so well after her accident in 2005.

This year’s tour takes place from the 20th to the 22nd of June, and this year we’re heading east to take in the glorious Kingdom of Fife (says Scot) and the wonderful shining city of Dundee (says Coralea).

The third joint concert of the Scottish Centres of Excellence in Music, featuring classical and traditional items form each Centre and the premiere of “The Boat of Mananan”, by Lila Senior. This was one of the winning entries in a competition sponsored by the Centres to find a new piece for orchestral and traditional instruments.
