I came here because there are so many great opportunities offered here for traditional music. Since I’ve been here I have learnt so many things, and have enjoyed every experience in the music school. When I leave this place, I want to continue playing music, and hopefully study it at Strathclyde or Limerick.

Hello! My name is Hannah and I come from the Highlands. I sing Gaelic songs and play the clàrsach. I came here to learn about lots of Gaelic songs and their history. I also wanted to meet other young people from different areas of Scotland who are interested in traditional music. As yet, I’m not sure what I want to do when I leave here. But I do want to carry on my music in some way. I don’t want to be famous, but I want to be well known for what I do.

Lewis
I’m Lewis and I’m from Highland. I play piano and box and a wee bit of fiddle. This is my first year at Plockton and I decided to come to the centre because I don’t think that there are many other places where you can be constantly around other young people with the same passion for traditional music. I have a few years left in Plockton, and in that time, I may be encouraged to take up music as a profession, but at the moment I am aiming to go and study architecture when I leave.
